Dr. Robert L. Skinner
Founder/ Chief Medical Officer
A native of Olive Branch, MS, Dr. Skinner has practiced in DeSoto County since 2001. He received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi College and completed Medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1998. He completed residency in 2001 through the University of Mississippi Family Medicine Residency Program where he also served as Chief Resident. Board Certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Skinner co-founded Family Medical Clinic of North Mississippi in 2003. With a long-time passion for preventing and treating cardiovascular disease, he founded the Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Center in 2011. Dr. Skinner has completed a Masters course in Clinical Lipidology, as well as completing a preceptorship program in the Bale/Doneen Method for prevention of heart attacks, ischemic strokes and diabetes. Dr. Skinner regularly attends symposiums held throughout the country to maintain the prevention center's awareness and participation in the latest advances in cardiovascular technology and research.
Family Nurse Practitioner
Nicole is a Family Nurse Practitioner and has lived in DeSoto County since 2007. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Delta State University in 2004 and her Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from Mississippi University for Women in 2007. Nicole has experience in a wide range of medical disciplines. Her special interest, though, is in cardiovascular risk prevention including advanced lipid testing and the management and prevention of diabetes. She has completed a preceptorship program in the Bale/Doneen Method for the prevention of heart attacks, ischemic strokes and diabetes.
Jennie is a Registered Dietitian with her Masters in Health Education and Health Promotion. She is originally from Batesville, Mississippi but has called DeSoto county home for over ten years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and her Master’s Degree from Mississippi State University in 2001. Jennie has a special interest in cardiovascular disease prevention and has done extensive studies in the role nutrition and diet play in the prevention of heart attack and stroke.
