What is the Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Center’s method of prevention?
The Prevention Center goes beyond the current medical standards by following an advanced prevention paradigm mirroring that of the nation’s foremost thought leaders in cardiovascular disease treatment and prevention. This involves using the latest technology to go beyond the standard of care to uncover any hidden cardiovascular risk factors or previously undetected disease. We then partner with our patients using the most current research to develop a plan for eliminating any risk and neutralizing any problems found.
Today’s alarming rate of death and disability as a result of cardiovascular disease reveals the current standard of prevention and treatment to be woefully inadequate. Even though medical science now saves more lives after a cardiovascular event, the number of people still suffering painful and life-threatening heart attacks and strokes has not declined at all.
The Prevention Center uses advanced cardiovascular disease detection techniques including:
- Advanced lipid and inflammation lab testing
- Cardiogenomic and Pharmacogenomic genetic analysis
- Extensive ultrasound and vascular analysis including CIMT (Carotid Intima Media Thickness) and EndoPAT (Endothelial Peripheral Arterial Tonometry)
- Cardiopulmonary and Nuclear Cardiac Exercise Stress Tests
- Home Sleep Studies
All of these techniques are fundamental to the treatment provided by the Prevention Center and are responsible for identifying your risk for heart attack and stroke, which may otherwise have remained undiscovered.
